Here are some pictures of the explosion and fire following the collision of a tanker truck carrying 8,000 gallons of fuel with a freight train in Chalmette Friday, June 25 at about 10 a.m.. The truck had just picked up the fuel from the Chalmette refining company. The driver of the truck, the train engineer and one crew member on the train were killed. The train and truck collided at the intersection of Paris Road and St. Bernard Highway. We heard the initial explosion and Iris saw the smoke, so I grabbed my camera and shot these (about five minutes after it happened).
